Speaking on the occasion, mega star Chiranjeevi, who was the chief guest said. “I came to attend the audio-release function of this film more out of regard for my friend K S Rama Rao than out of love and affection for Teju”. Recalling his friendship with nostalgia, Chiranjeevi said that he could never forget the contribution of K S Rama Rao in boosting his career.
He said that during the 1980s, he got an opportunity to act in several films produced by K S Rama Rao like ‘Abhilasha’, ‘Challenge’, ‘Rakshasudu’ and ‘Marana Mrudangam’ which were super hits in those days, thus enhancing his popularity. “If I am a supreme hero or mega star today, it is only because of K S Rama Rao and his Creative Commercials”, he added.
He said that the music composed by Ilayaraja in those films was excellent and the songs were popular even now. K S Rama Rao also proved that I was good as a ‘Navala Nayakudu’ by casting me in ‘Abhilasha,’ a novel written by Yendamoori Veerendranath, which became a block buster, he added.
In his speech, K S Rama Rao said that those who were in the Telugu film industry today should learn a lot from Chiranjeevi, especially, his discipline and commitment, by which he could become a mega star. He thanked Chiranjeevi for gracing the audio release function out of regard for him.
Hero Sai Dharam thanked producer K Rama Rao and director Karunakaran for selecting him as the hero in this film and Gopi Sundar for scoring excellent music. He said that he always looked up to his uncle Chiranjeevi as his role model.
