It was tragedy at the house of upcoming Tamil comedian Siddharth Gopinath. His wife Smirija committed suicide by hanging self from a ceiling in her room. The shocking incident occurred in the Maduravoyal residence of the actor late on Tuesday night. The incident came to light only on Wednesday morning.
According to sources, the actor and his wife went out and came back in the night, after which they had a heated argument. Immediately after this, Smirija went into her room and hanged herself. The comedian, who slept in a sofa in the drawing room found her hanging and immediately informed the police. The police are now investigating.
Siddharth and Smirija were married three years ago. Siddharth worked in Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka, a 2015 film produced by Ravi Raja Pinisetti. The film also starred Aadhi and Nikki Galrani.
It may be recalled that this is the second incident of a film personality committing suicide in the past three months. Popular Tamil actress Priyanka was found dead at her residence in July this year.
