Gopichand’s next pegged at 35 crore?

Update: 2019-01-20 05:30 IST

Action hero Gopichand’s next untitled film with director Thiru who made ‘Samar’ and ‘Naan Sigappu Manithan’, is being reportedly made with a whopping budget of Rs 35 crore, says a source from Chennai.

“It will showcase Gopichand in a larger-than-life role to enhance his action image. It is very unique plot and was never tried on the big screen,” adds the source. Impressed by the plot, ace producer Anil Sunkara didn’t mind digging deep into pockets and is going to spend lavishly for the big-ticket entertainer.

“Anil Sunkara and Gopichand are excited with the well-knitted screenplay and want to make it a visual spectacle. Without any hint of doubt, the makers are going to splurge money on this action adventure, totally trusting the confidence and immense talent of director Thiru,” the source points out.

The shooting is expected to begin next week in Rajasthan and it will be shot in picturesque foreign locales to give the film much-needed edge over other action-centric Telugu movies. “After scouting various locales, the makers zeroed in on Syria and Egypt for their slam-bang action film with best of crew,” the source informs. Actually, Tamil star Vishal was reluctant to take up this big budget extravaganza.

“Vishal liked the concept and was excited to do it. But was slightly hesitant about the massive budget and asked the director to prune it a bit. Meanwhile, director Thiru approached Gopichand who was looking for a dare-devil action movie and everything fell in place,” the source concludes.

In fact, producer Anil Sunkara has taken is as a prestigious project since he is known for making high-budget flicks like ‘Dhookudu’ and ‘1 Nennokadine’ with Mahesh Babu and believes that Gopichand has the stamina to pull off a multi-million bucks movie.

Nonetheless, Gopichand would be the happiest man since his last few films like ‘Oxygen’ and ‘Pantham’ were duds and would be hoping to return to limelight riding on Thiru’s water-tight script.
