Anil Kapoor says he decided to do the film, '1942: A Love Story' only for the songs of the film like, 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Tho Esa Laga' and 'Kuch Na Kaho'
Anil talked about the original song and the film when addressing the audience at the NMIMS college for the film promotion on Tuesday.
He said, "I remember when I first heard the song, I wasn't even going to do the film. This was 25 years ago, and as a father of three children, I thought someone younger like Aamir should do the role. But that didn't happen for some reasons. Then I heard the songs 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Tho Esa Laga' and 'Kuch Na Kaho' and I knew that nobody other than me can sing these songs.
I did the film, 1942 A Love Story only for that song and I was so right. I knew that people will forget everything but not the song. Even today people talk about it, and now years later I have the privilege to be part of a film that is called, 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Tho Esa Laga'"
The film stars, Anil Kapoor alongside, daughter Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Juhi Chawla, Abhishek Duhan, Seema Pahwa, Madhumalti & Brijendra Kala.
When talking about working with his daughter for the first time, Anil said, "It feels great that I worked on this film with Sonam for the first time and it is, even more, amazing because will be playing as father and daughter. There couldn't have been a better film, director or music for the both of us to come together."
Sonam for the first time in a mainstream commercial film will be seen representing the LGBT community in India. The actress has been greatly praised for the role out on social media since the trailer released.
