Filmmaker Amit Sharma says content-driven cinema has been always been there, on the sidelines of an award show.

Badaahi Ho filmmaker Amit Sharma was interacting with media on the sidelines of Power Brand- Bollywood Film Journalist Award 2019.

Talking about content-driven cinema, Amit said content is important and always existed in the film industry. He said, “See it’s not like that the content films were not there before, content-based cinema was always there, and they are still here. The content based cinema is getting reorganization and fans love them, because there are new stories which are coming up and we are witnessing all sorts of stories. Ranging from small town to big cities, I think content today is very important…Keeping the audience in mind and telling a story accordingly, and the story we tell, if it has depth and some newness, it will definitely work”

Amit Sharma’s next is a sports biopic based on Syed Abdul Rahim, who served the Indian football team as its coach and manager from 1950-1963. Actor Ajay Devgn will play the titular role.

Sharing details about the project, Amit added, “My next project is being produced by Boney Kapoor and it is a sports biopic. Actor Ajay Devgn is playing the titular role of Syed Abdul Rahim, on whom the biopic is named and based”

Amit Sharma helmed Badhaai Ho ruled 2018, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Neena Gupta.
