Nani to produce Maruthi’s film?

After producing an experimental film ‘Awe’, hotshot star Nani wants to bankroll a big-ticket commercial film. According to an industry source, ‘MCA’ star is impressed with the entertainment-driven storyline narrated by director Maruthi and reportedly wants to produce the film on his own. “Nani was floored by the exciting story and even thinking of producing it. He will take a call very soon,” adds the source.

Even though, there are three to four producers willing to bet their money on Nani-Maruthi combo whose earlier blockbuster was ‘Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy’, Nani has different plans and wants to establish his banner with a Rs 40 crore movie. Natural Star is currently busy with the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Jersey’ and also thinking of doing a film with talented director Vikram Kumar this year.

Nevertheless, the young actor will be joining the bandwagon of star-turned-producers like Nagarjuna, Balakrishna and new-age stars like Sundeep Kishan. “Stars turn producers to make a film with lot of commitment and passion without compromising on quality and budget. If they find the right kind of script that demands their financial support besides their acting skills, they don’t mind donning the producer’s hat,” the source points out. With ‘Awe’ not making big money, Nani wants to prove that he is capable of churning out a money-spinner.
