Seasoned star Nagarjuna has reportedly kept a film of his son and handsome actor Akhil on hold since a young director who narrated the story also quoted Rs 30 crore-plus budget for the film. “It is an out-and-out action adventure and demands whopping budget,” says an industry source and adds “Nagarjuna could do the film since he liked the plot. But urged the director to rework on the budget to make it feasible and saleable,” he adds.

Although new-age star Akhil impressed the audience with his performance as a flamboyant lover boy in his last release ‘Mr Majnu’, the love story couldn’t really set the box office on fire. In fact, Akhil is fascinated with action-centric movies and even hired Hollywood technicians for action sequences in his other release ‘Hello’ and impressed with a few dare-devil action sequences. However, it didn’t fetch big money at the box office.

Now, Nagarjuna is looking for scripts that are a good mix of ‘love and action’ which would strike a chord with the audience since he deson’t want to take any more chances at the trade circles. “Nag is aiming for a blockbuster and its high time Akhil scores a money-spinner to settle down in the industry for good,” the source points out. Besides Akhil is open to work with more banners and couple of producers are in talks with him.

Actually, a seasoned director who delivered a blockbuster with new-age star with a political thriller is also planning a film with the scion of Akkineni family. No doubt, Akhil has to prove his mettle at the ticket windows and planning to work with directors who can make commercial potboilers with novel plots. Lets wait and see.
