The eighth edition of Global Entrepreneur Summit (GES), which got underway in the city, has been touted as a hi-tech summit. Moreover, digital economy and financial technology is one of the four core issues that is in focus at the three-day summit. But interestingly, there was no Wi-Fi facility for the media and journalists covering the conclave attended by more than 1,500 delegates from 150 countries.

The US and Indian government are jointly organising the event. Though organisers sent usernames and passwords to journalists for their use during the inaugural session of the mega event, many journalists and media persons could not access Wi-Fi. Repeated requests to the organisers did not yield any positive result. As results, many journalists could not file stories from the venue. Organisers said overload on the Wi-Fi network caused the problem. ActFibre net provided Wi-Fi services at the venue.
