HYD: Man attempts to rape housewife

L B Nagar police on Wednesday booked a case of sexual assault against a 24-year-old man who allegedly tried to outrage modesty of a housewife in RTC Colony on Tuesday evening. The accused is said to be still at large.

According to police, the accused, Krishna, of Hanumagal colony in Hayathnagar, allegedly tried to outrage the modesty of a woman who stays in a rented room of her relatives. The accused had gone there to give invitation card for a function. Local residents rushed to the spot when the victim started screaming for help.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim, the police registered a case under Section 354 (Assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and took up the investigation. A man-hunt was launched to nab him.
