Kadiri: A police team from Bangalore on Sunday identified a person who resembles the suspect involved in the recent attack on a woman bank officer in an ATM in Bangalore, after conducting searches in the SBI branch here.

Described by the police as ‘psycho’, the suspect allegedly attacked Prameelamma of Dharmavaram on November 10, after snatching her ATM card. She died later.

He withdrew Rs.4,000 from the ATM at the main branch here on November 11 and 12, according to police. They have concluded that the same person was involved in the Bangalore incident, after identifying him with the help of CC cameras. The suspect had on November 17 attacked Jyoti Uday in the Bangalore ATM, after snatching her card. He resorted to a serious attack with a knife on her, resulting in paralysis on the right side of the body. Following the identification of the psycho, the police have intensified efforts in both Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to nab him. People in Anantapur district while expressing anxiety over the attacks said lack of security at ATMs was resulting in such incidents.
