Hyderabad: One more youth allegedly involved in the Tanishq gold heist was apprehended by the police in Guntur. He was brought to the city by the police, according to the sources.The CCS police, however, denied the reports saying that special teams were still on the lookout for him.

G Anand, for whom a manhunt was launched by the State police, was said to have been caught near his village Mangalagiri in Guntur district. The police officials who reached Epuru, his native village on Tuesday, questioned the family on his whereabouts and took his younger brother Sudheer into custody. It resulted in a confrontation between the police and the village people. The police tried to convince them that they would leave him after questioning. The family members were, however, given no information about Sudheer till late in the night.

Meanwhile, Anand, who was holed up in his relative’s house in Mangalagiri surrendered to the police and sought the release of his brother who had nothing to do with the Tanishq heist. It was claimed that Anand was handed over to the police team by his own relatives. Later he was brought to Hyderabad and kept in police custody. However, his brother is yet to be released.
