French tourists molested in Jodhpur, two held

Jodhpur: On Wednesday, two youths who pretended as tourist guides were arrested for molesting two French tourists at the famous Mandore Garden in Jodhpur.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Jain, on Wednesday afternoon, two French women tourists had come to visit Mandore Garden. They were greeted by two youths who were in their teens and identified as Jasan Khilji and Musarak Alam. The duo introduced themselves as tourist guides and offered to take them around the garden. They took the women to a temple behind the garden lake. When they reached there, both of them molested the two and tried to subdue them. The women got shocked and shouted for help.

A person named Gopi rushed the spot in for their help. Seeing this, both the youths rushed towards the main gate of the garden and tried to board a bus, in order to run away from the spot. But the shouting of the women alerted few other people and the nearby people caught hold of the duo. They were beaten up black and blue by the crowd and were handed over to Tourist Assistance Force (TAF).

According to the police, a case has been registered under Section 354 A & B of IPC and the statements of the victims have been recorded. Both the accused were found to be daily wagers and were just wandering around in the garden.
