AP Crime Snippets: March 26, 2014. Early on Wednesday, the police have carried out snap checking near toll gate at Patancheru in Medak district. The police have seized an amount of Rs 8.48L from a car during the checks.

Hyderabad: Early on Wednesday an engineering student attempted suicide. Sandhya, an engineering student at Avanthi Engineering College has jumped from the top of a three storey building. She sustained severe injuries and was rushed immediately to a nearby hospital.
The reason for the suicide attempt has not been known yet. It is learnt that the condition of the girl has been critical. The management has informed the matter to her parents. A case has been booked by the police and has been investigating the matter.
During the enduring checking of vehicles, at Miyapur, early on Wednesday, the police have seized Rs 20L being carried on a two wheeler, according to Police sources.
In a similar incident, the police have seized Rs 37L from two cars near the outskirts of Tiruvuru in Krishna district.
