Gopikrishna arrested for sexually assaulting orphan girls

Vijayawada: The Police of Satyanaraynapuram held the organiser of Shirdi Sai Ashram for sexually molesting the orphan girls. According to the police, Yerramshetti Gopikrishna has formerly worked at TTE in railways. He was dismissed from the service when a murder attempt case was booked against him in 2005. He is survived by three wives.

Before six years, the accused Gopikrishna has established the said Ashram. He has been running the ashram by adopting few orphans and with his kids through his three wives. The orphans are given education and food. They stay in the ashram in the nights as well. As many as four people have been employed for the smooth running of the ashram and to collect funds to run the ashram through them.

The girl orphans are made to work for the ashram. Allegedly, Gopikrishna misbehaves with them during the nights and have been sexually abusing them over a period of time. Child Line received such information from few victims. They visited the ashram and taken away the girls to Child Line rescue. A case has been booked against Gopikrishna with the complaint received from P Lakshmi, the project director. The accused has been held by the police for interrogation.
