East Godavari: Liquor worth 2.60L seized

On Monday, the police have carried out thorough checking in East Godavari district in view of the intimidating elections. During these raids, they have seized as many as 4176 bottles of liquor worth Rs 2.6L at Kalvacherla junction on national highway at Rajangaram in Eat Godavari district. The snap checks were carried out in the presence of Naga Murali, the Circle Inspector of Police, and Rama Koteshwara Rao, the Sub Inspector of Police of Rajangaram. It is learnt that the liquor was intended for distribution among the voters of Rampaerrapalem of Gokavaram mandal in East Godavari district, reportedly. More details are awaited.

In another similar incident, the police have seized as many as 1500 bottles of liquor near Racherla gate of Giddalur mandal in Prakasaham district on Monday. Going on with the painstaking checking in view of the looming elections, the police early on Monday have carried out thorough checking in Prakasham district. They found as many as 1500 bottles of liquor being conveyed in a car, illegally. The same has been seized by the police apart from seizing the car. However, the driver of the car absconded from the place, reportedly. More details are awaited.
