Hyderabad: The police have seized as many as 1500 bottles of liquor near Racherla gate of Giddalur mandal in Prakasaham district. Going on with the painstaking checking in view of the looming elections, the police early on Monday have carried out thorough checking in Prakasham district. They found as many as 1500 bottles of liquor being conveyed in a car, illegally. The same has been seized by the police apart from seizing the car. However, the driver of the car absconded from the place, reportedly. More details are awaited.
In another incident, the police have caught the YSR Congress Party activists red-handed when they were allegedly distributing money at Manamarru village of Penugonda mandal in West Godavari district. An amount of Rs 2.59L has been seized from them. However, the YSRCP activists fled from the spot, reportedly.
Banawar Lal, the Andhra Pradesh State Election Commissioner, at a previous instance said that a huge currency, liquor, gold and silver have been seized in view of the elections. He ordered the concerned authorities to intensify their checking as there was a possibility that more methods of transportation of money, liquor and gold will be opted in view of the looming elections in Seemandhra.
