Warangal: Unidentified persons duped an official of Bharat Petroleum and allegedly decamped with Rs 50 lakh cash and 30 tolas of gold ornaments on Thursday. A gang of five persons posing as CBI officials entered the flat of Raju Naik in Aparna Apartments near Hunter Road in Hanamkonda in the afternoon. They demanded that he reveal his assets. Believing them to be real CBI sleuths, he presented before them all the money and ornaments at home.
Stating that they have to conduct panchanama and produce the valuables before court, they took away the same. It took a few hours for Naik to realize that he was duped and he approached the police in the evening. Urban SP Venkateswara Rao visited his house and cops booked a case.
