Karnataka: Minor raped, murdered in school toilet

Bengaluru: A minor girl aged about 9yrs was allegedly raped and murdered by a boy who is in late teens in the toilet of a government school situated at Hale Chandapura in Hebbagodi police station limits on Saturday evening. The accused, Trishul, a neighbour of the victim, was later arrested by the police.

According to sources, the girl’s family has been residing in a rented house near the school she studies at. Her father is a bus conductor in BMTC, while her mother is a housewife. Trishul, who works in a private company, was residing along with his parents in the house next-door and reportedly both families were close to each other.

On the fateful evening, the victim was taken to a nearby Thirumagondanahalli Government School in the pretext of getting her chocolates by the accused, while she was playing with her younger sister near her house. He then took her to the school toilet, located on the rear side, and raped her.

When it was getting dark and the girl didn’t return their home, the parents of the victim got frightened and lodged a complaint with the police. During their preliminary investigation, the police learnt that she was last seen playing with her sister. When she was questioned she revealed that Trishul had taken her to buy chocolates.

Trishul was taken into the custody by the police on Sunday morning and interrogated him. The accused confessed to the crime and in his statement said that he took the girl to the school, raped her and fled the spot. However, when the police took the accused to the crime spot, they found the girl dead. So far, the autopsy report was not received from the hospital.
