UP: Minor raped, hanged to tree in Moradabad

Moradabad/Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh: The horror continues in Uttar Pradesh. Body of 16-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree in Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh. Family of the girl has alleged rape.

In yet another shocker from Uttar Pradesh, a 35-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a police officer in the presence of his subordinates in a police station in the state’s Hamirpur district.

On Monday, the woman had gone to the police station to seek her husband’s release who was arrested by cops. Policemen at Sumerpur police station demanded a bribe from the woman, which she refused to pay.

She was raped by the Station House Officer (SHO), Rahul Pandey while the other constables at duty stood mute, unfazed by the crime occurring at the spot. The SHO has been arrested and the three cops removed from duty.

In a separate incident, body of a 45-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh after she was allegedly abducted and gangraped.

The semi-nude body of the victim was found hanging with a saree from a tree in Ranipur area, police said. The woman, belonging to a backward caste, was missing from Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh will be in Delhi today to seek global investment in his state.
