Hyderabad: An old woman was burnt alive when three huts were gutted in the fire at Indupalli village of Unguturu mandal in Krishna district. The fire accident took place at around 3.30 A.M. early on Wednesday, while everyone was sleeping outside their homes under the roof of the sky. All of sudden sparking took place in a switch board of a house. An old woman Venkata Raghavamma who was sleeping inside the house was burnt alive as she could not come out from the home. Also, the youth who attempted rescuing her was also hurt. The fire spread to neighbouring two houses as well. The fire fighting team and the police rushed the spot and has been investigating the matter. More details are awaited.

From the other end, at the industrial area near Tepali village of Tanuku Mandal in West Godavari district, an old garments’ godown was gutted in the fire. The godown is owned by Kambhapatthula Srinivas Rao. The fire brokeout due to electric short circuit, reportedly. In this fire accident, apart from the burning of valuable machinery, old garments have also been gutted in the fire. Nevertheless, there was no loss of life reported in the incident. The fire rescue team rushed the spot at once on receiving information from the locals and put out the fire. In the preliminary investigations, an estimated loss of assets worth Rs 5L is reported. A case has been registered by the police and has been investigating the matter.
