Hyderabad: In a wall collapse incident under Chatrinaka police limits, a 50-year-old woman was killed while two persons of the same family sustained injuries. The incident took place on Friday evening when Nagamani, 30, her son, Srinu, 4, and her mother Amritamma went to offer milk and eggs to the snake god on Nag Panchami Day near Bhatji Bapu Samadhi Mandir in Chatrinaka area.
“When they were busy in prayers, the wall adjacent to the place of worship fell on them,” the police said.
The injured were rushed to Asra Hospital in Shahalibanda where Amritamma died while undergoing treatment. Nagamani and Srinu who suffered back injuries reported to be stable.
Police, who rushed to the spot, said that the wall had weakened due to heavy showers in the city. The water had accumulated near the temple and neighbouring areas for hours, they said.
