Lecturer, four students held for sexually harassing

Kakinada: Teachers who need to educate and impart knowledge in the students have become the brutal. Just because of a few such people, the entire community who give their lives to the noble service get a blot on their profession.

In an incident a teacher sexually harassed a girl accompanied by four of his male students in Kakinada. All the five have been held by the police. According to the police who are dealing the case, at the Ideal College of Vidyuth Nagar in Kakinada, the victim has been studying B.Tech. Veeravalli Satya Veera Deepak, the prime accused has been working as a lecturer in the same college. For quite sometime, he has been harassing the girl. He was supported in his monstrous activities by Srinivas, Mothupalli Rohith Mehar, Vijaya Babu and Venkatesh, the students of B. Tech II year in the same college. When the girl went to the college on Sunday to appear in an online examination, she was allegedly threatened by the five to cooperate with them to fulfill their lust and warned of raping her inside a car, otherwise.

Also, the girl was threatened by them that they would shower acid on her face, if the matter was leaked to anyone. The accused five reportedly gave her 5 days time to decide between the options. The matter was taken up by the girl with her parents and with the help of them a complaint has been registered. A case has been booked against the accused five under Nirbhaya Act and eve teasing sections. The accused have been held for interrogation. More details are awaited.
