Even before forgetting the theft that occurred at the Grameena Vikas Bank of Balanagar in Mahabubnagar district, in another branch of the same bank, a robbery was attempted on Thursday night to loot the APGVB bank of Koderu branch.


According to sources, few unknown reprobates attempted burglary in the bank and forced open the door and grills of the back side window of the bank. The same was realised by the bank staff who reached the bank early in the morning. The locker was thorough checked if something was missing and realised by the bank staff that nothing was lost. The matter was reported to Venkata Ramana, the Sub Inspector of Police at Koderu. He reached the spot and inspected the spot. It is suspected that fear of getting caught the reprobates might have fled away from the spot in between as the bank located in the center of the village.


It is evident that on August 10, the Rural Development Bank of Balanagar in Mahabubnagar was robbed. The bank officials realised the theft when they opened the bank early on August 11. The locker of the bank was cut with the gas cutters to rob cash and gold. It was learnt that the gold ornaments worth Rs 4cr was stolen, apart from Rs 13L cash.
