Man Smothers 10-Month-Old Daughter. The Gopalapuram Police arrested a man for killing his 10-month-old daughter on Thursday.
Hyderabad: The Gopalapuram Police arrested a man for killing his 10-month-old daughter on Thursday.
According to police, Srinivas, 35, an attender in Railway Sanchalan Bhavan, under inebriated condition, killed the baby girl by smothering her with a rope, while her mother Kavitha was away on Wednesday. Later, he attempted suicide by hanging himself from a fan. However, he fell to the ground after the rope snapped.
After finding both in unconscious state, Kavitha rushed them to SCR Hospital in Mettuguda. The hospital authorities have declared the baby girl was brought dead. While Srinivas, who was undergoing treatment, surrendered to the police. They registered a case under 302 (Murder) of IPC and took him into custody. It is believed that both husband and wife regularly quarrelled over financial problems and the future of their three daughters, the youngest of them being 10-month-old, Sharanya.
