Negligence case slapped against private hospital

Hyderabad: The Kukatpally police on Tuesday registered a case against a private hospital whose alleged negligence led to the death of an elderly woman. The deceased, Mutyala Pentamma, 62, of Vivek Nagar, was taken to a private hospital with symptoms of fever. She was administered an injection and was sent home. However, she was brought back to the same hospital after her health condition worsened. She died a few hours after admission.

Following a complaint lodged by the relatives, police registered a case of medical negligence under Section 304-A of the IPC against the hospital management and began investigation.
