Deep lacerations were found on the bodies of two children

Hyderabad: The two children of ICFAI professor Raghavendra Guru Prasad, Vittal Virinchi, 9, and Nanda Vihari, 5, who were found murdered and buried in Medchal area on Monday, were hit repeatedly by a sickle on head and neck region, the autopsy report established on Tuesday.

According to Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday, deep lacerations made by sickle were found near the head and neck portion of both the children. While Vittal received two lacerations on head region, Nanda sustained three lacerations on head and neck region.

“Both were murdered with a sharp coconut sickle type of weapon on their head and neck region within a time gap of 15 to 20 minutes. The elder one got two deep lacerations whereas the younger child got one superficial and two deep lacerations damaging the spinal cord resulting instant death,” Dr Mohan Singh of Gandhi Hospital said.

Malkajgiri inspector G Sekhar Goud, who was present at the mortuary said heavy blows on head were also traced by the doctors on the two children dead bodies. Police on Monday evening exhumed the bodies of the children from Beerappaguda in Medchal area after getting the information of the missing children.

A pall of gloom descended at the Gandhi mortuary where Suhasini and her family members had gathered to receive the bodies. Suhasni witnessed fainting spells a couple of times and refused to talk to mediapersons. Sudden death of the children left the family members shattered. The bodies were later were taken to Bansilalpet crematorium for final rites.
