Doctor ends life due to senior\'s harassment, A doctor committed suicide allegedly due to harassment by her senior at Andhra Mahila Sabha (AMS) Hospital on Sunday.
Hyderabad: A doctor committed suicide allegedly due to harassment by her senior at Andhra Mahila Sabha (AMS) Hospital on Sunday.
According to police, Madhavi, 24, a native of Warangal had completed her MBBS and joined AMS hospital for Post Graduation (Gynaecology) a couple of months ago. She hanged herself to death at 12.30 pm, when no one was there in her hostel room. She was found hanging from the fan on a piece of rope. Police after learning about the incident rushed to the spot.
They also found a suicide note, written in English which blamed her senior M Sarojini.
Madhavi’s father Venkataiah who arrived in the city complained to police who booked a case under Section 306 (Abetment of Suicide) against Sarojini.
A post-mortem will be conducted on Monday. Police said they would take Sarojini into custody for questioning. Sarojini was not available on Sunday. “We shall go and get her on Monday,” said investigating officer, Chiranjeevi.
