Police seek info on her chats with Mehr Tarar

New Delhi: In a bid to unravel the mystery behind the death of Sunanda Pushkar, the Delhi Police is probing the conversations between the wife of former union minister Shashi Tharoor and Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar.

As per the Delhi Police, Sunanda was operating four online accounts — two e-mail accounts on Google and Yahoo, and two on Twitter and Facebook.

According to a daily, the police have received information from the two e-mail service providers but are waiting for the details from Twitter and Facebook. The data shared by Google and Yahoo contain the IP addresses of people who exchanged e-mails or e-mail chats with Sunanda before the socialite breathed her last on January 17. Police may reportedly contact the people and quiz them in this regard.

In the meantime, Facebook has asked the Delhi Police to send an official letter, citing what information it requires.

The daily added that police are now writing a letter rogatory to Facebook and Twitter, asking both the social networking websites to provide them with the chats. Also, police have sent three of Sunanda's phones for forensic analysis to know if the BBMs from her phone were deleted.

Last month, Sunanda's post-mortem report had stated "poisoning" to be the cause of her death.
