Hyderabad: Three motorists were killed when a GHMC truck knocked down the bike they were travelling on near RK Puram flyover on Wednesday under Neredmet police station limits.
According to police, Ajay, 18 and Venkatesh, 19, both native of Nellore district of AP and Pranay, 23, a resident of Film Nagar, were travelling on a motorbike and was going towards Trimulgherry. The motorcycle, on which they were travelling, collided head-on with a speeding truck (AP 12 W 1298) coming in the opposite direction.
Ajay, who was riding the bike in a bid to overtake a DCM van moving ahead failed to notice and crashed into the truck coming in the opposite direction. Due to the impact, all three fell to the ground and came under the wheels of the truck.
Death was instant for Ajay and Venkatesh, while Pranay died undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital, the cops said.
A case has been registered against the truck driver under Section 304 A (Death caused due to negligence) of the IPC. Further investigation is underway.
