4kg gold seized at RGIA

Hyderabad: Customs officials seized 4 kg gold from 14 passengers at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad here on Wednesday. Acting on passenger profiling intelligence data, the sleuths of Air Intelligence Unit, RGIA Customs, intercepted the passengers, all belonging to Chhattisgarh state, who arrived at the RGIA from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday morning. The gold valued at Rs 1 crore was subsequently seized by the officials. They were arrested under Section 104 of Customs Act and produced before the court of Special Judge for Economic Offences.
