Hyderabad: A consulting general physician of a private hospital, who was called by a private school in Banjara Hills to conduct medical check-up of students on Monday, was booked for misbehaving with a 9-year-old girl on the school premises, police said on Wednesday.
The Banjara Hills police have registered a criminal case against Dr Uday, a resident of Kukatpally. According to police, a team of doctors visited the school located on Road No 7 on Monday to conduct medical check-up of students. The doctor pretended to examine the girl, a Class V student, and allegedly misbehaved with her and sexually assaulted her.
Though the incident took place on Monday, it came to light on Tuesday evening when the victim disclosed the incident to her parents. Parents lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills police station on Tuesday.
Based on the victim’s parents’ complaint, a case was registered against Dr Uday under Section 354 (Assault or use of criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman) of the IPC. The case is under investigation and no arrest has been made yet, inspector P Muralikrishna said.
