Brothel in city raided; two arrested
The Neredmet police conducted a raid on a brothel located at Suryanagar in Neredmet area on Tuesday and apprehended two organisers apart from rescuing two victims.
Hyderabad: The Neredmet police conducted a raid on a brothel located at Suryanagar in Neredmet area on Tuesday and apprehended two organisers apart from rescuing two victims. The cops also arrested two customers and recovered a cash of Rs 12,790 besides six cell phones from the spot.
The arrested have been identified as Battu Radha Krishna Murthy, 40 and Punnapu Durga, 28, both native of Andhra Pradesh. The police sent a decoy customer to the brothel following a tip-off. Receiving a signal from the decoy, the police raided the brothel and arrested the organisers along with two customers.
Neredmet inspector, N Chandra Babu, who headed the police team, said a case under Sections 3, 4, 5 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) has been registered against the accused. The victims were shifted to a rescue home.
