Hyderabad: North Zone Task Force team in a joint operation with Sultan Bazar police arrested seven persons on Tuesday in connection with a dacoity committed in Sultan Bazar on November 11.

Abdul Salman, 19, Md Fayaz ul Rahman, 19, Md Rizwan Ali, 19, and Habeeb Ali Pasha, 19, all residents of Pahidishareef, Habeeb Shahed, 21, New Baba Nagar, Syed Abdullah, 19, Chandrayanagutta, and Mirza Azhar Baig, 20, Malakpet are the accused in the case. Police recovered cash of Rs 2.3 lakh, two motorcycles, a dagger and eight mobile phones used by the offenders.

According to police, Narendra Kumar Sarda, 49, of Sultan Bazar, had been running a shop, Sarada Associates at Inder Bagh in Sultan Bazaar area.

“Syed Abdullah who previously worked at Narendra's shop hatched a plan along with Mirza Azhar Baig (presently working at the shop) to loot the shop. Accordingly, on November 11, around 11.20 pm, Syed Abdullah, Mirza Azhar and other accused attacked Narendra and his son Umesh Kumar who came out of their shop after closing it.

Fayaz sprinkled chilli powder on them and Salman, taking advantage of it, attacked the victims with a knife. Following which Fayaz snatched the bag and managed to flee the spot in a motorcycle, ridden by Habeeb Shahed,” DCP (E) A Ravinder said.

A special team, constituted after the victims lodged a complaint, had a thorough study of the nearby streets and managed to develop likely profiles of suspects. The team apprehended Fayaz ul Rahman, Habeeb Shahed, Abdul Salman and Md Rizwan while moving suspiciously at Chandrayanagutta and basing on information provided by them nabbed the remaining accused, Syed Abdullah, Mirza Azhar Baig and Habeeb Ali Pasha at Santhoshnagar.
