The victim, Parvez Khokhar (70), was allegedly strangled, and his hands and legs were found tied.

His wife was asleep in a different bedroom when the murder took place near Hebbagodi, on the outskirts of the city, in a gated community - Green Bay in Huskuru.

The police suspect the motive for murder is not theft, as valuables and cash were not touched. The investigating officer said that the attackers had ransacked the bedroom cupboards and a few property-related documents were found strewn on the floor.

The assailants had also locked the door of the bedroom in which Khokhar was murdered before leaving.

According to the police, the killers had gained entry through the terrace door on the third floor. They locked the door of the room in which the victim’s wife was sleeping and then entered Khokhar’s bedroom.
