Karimnagar: The police here on Friday cracked the murder case of a housewife. They arrested Bojja Sankar (35) of Bandalingapur village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal for murdering a housewife Bhookya Bharathi at Vattimalla in Konaraopet mandal of Karimnagar district on August 24 this year.

Speaking to the media, Additional SP B Janardhan Reddy said Sankar had made an attempt to kill his own wife in 2011. Later, he shifted to Vattimalla village in Konaraopeta mandal. He was a tenant at the house of Bhookya Bharathi.

However, when Bharathi was alone at her house on August 24, Sankar killed her and decamped with gold and silver ornaments. He was absconding since then.In a latest incident, Bojja Sankar lifted a motorcycle at Metpally on December 1. The police launched a hunt for him and nabbed him on the outskirts of Vemulawada. They recovered six tolas of gold, silver ornaments and a Bajaj Platina motorcycle from him. Vemulawada rural CI Madhavi, Metpally CI K Rajasekhara Raju and Konaraopeta SI Malakonda Rayudu were present at the media conference.
