Sopore: Body of kidnapped Sarpanch recovered

The body of a Sarpanch who was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was recovered in nearby orchards at the deceased\'s village on Saturday morning.
Srinagar: The body of a Sarpanch who was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was recovered in nearby orchards at the deceased's village on Saturday morning.
Sources said that six unidentified men kidnapped Ghulam Mohammad Mir(62), a Sarpanch who was affiliated with National Conference fromHygam last night at 9pm.
Mir's family lodged a complaint with the police following which a searchoperation was launched. Today on Saturday morning, the body of the deceased Sarpanch, who had received bullet injury in the head and abdomen, was found in Shalbagh orchards near Hygam Sopore.
Police have registered a case and started manhunt to nab/trace out the killer.
