Hyderabad: Six Nigerians including three women were caught by the traffic police while they were driving under the influence of alcohol at Banjara Hills in the wee hours of Sunday.

“They were stopped by the traffic police near Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital and after the breath analyser test, the alcohol level in their blood was found to be beyond permissible limits. They argued with the traffic cops and refused to take the breath analyser test,” Traffic Inspector C Umamaheshwar said.

At one stage, the other occupants of the vehicle lost their cool and misbehaved with the media persons.

They yelled at the media and attacked a cameraman when he was shooting their pictures, despite the presence of several policemen.

A case under Section 185 (drunken driving) of Motor Vehicle Act was lodged against them and they were released on personal bond with a direction to attend mandatory counselling session, the inspector said adding that they were likely to be produced before the court on Tuesday.
