According to police, the victim Akula Vasantha, 45, resident of MBR Colony, was alone in her residence during the evening on Wednesday, when three youngsters entered the building premises after finding a to-let board. Upon finding the woman alone, they threatened her with knife. They snatched away her Mangalsutra weighing seven tolas. She received injury on her hand while resisting the attempt.

“As per the complainant, they appeared like college going youngsters. First they pushed her and threatened with knife. Her hand received a cut, when she resisted. We are investigating the case,” said Mohammed Ghouse, Inspector, Ibrahimpatnam.
