Police rescue kidnapped minor girl at Anantapur
The Atmakur police on Wednesday arrested six persons, who were involved in the kidnapping of a minor girl in Anantapur district.
Anantapur: The Atmakur police on Wednesday arrested six persons, who were involved in the kidnapping of a minor girl in Anantapur district. Police seized an Indica car, two hunting knives and two cell phones from their possession.
According to police, one Balu, a native of Rangampeta village in the district, kidnapped his niece (Sister’s daughter) four days ago with an intention to marry her. The 17-year-old girl was studying in a private college in Anantapur.
On December 26, when she was returning to her residence Balu, along with five of his accomplices, kidnapped the girl in the car.
On receiving information, the Anantapur rural and Atmakur police rushed to Mannila village in the district and freed her from the clutches of kidnappers. Later, they handed the girl over to her parents.
