Godman arrested for molesting woman
A man claiming to be a ‘godman’ was arrested for blackmailing a woman, according to police. The 25-year-old man, hailing from Tamil Nadu, who posed as a godman, was arrested by Central Crime Station (CCS) police here on charges of molestation and blackmailing, police said on Tuesday.

According to police, Shoukath Hussain, hailing from Vellore in Tamil Nadu, was in computer hardware business. He was arrested by a team led by ACP (Cyber Crime) Dr B Anuradha, after a woman filed a complaint against him. “Hussain, taking advantage of religious sentiments of the victim, gave her some fake medicines and met her three to four times.
Later, he started harassing her, threatened her that he would inform her husband about their meetings and started demanding money,” DCP (DD) G Pala Raju said. “The accused also misbehaved with the victim and outraged her modesty,” the DCP said adding that a probe was on in the matter.
