Civil service aspirant sends lewd messages to woman, held

A resident of LB Nagar and a civil services aspirant was picked up by the Hyderabad police for sending vulgar messages to a woman after she refused to marry him, it is learnt.

The accused has been identified as 33-year-old Venkata Naga Balaji Goparaju, who harassed the woman with his repeated calls. The story goes thus that, Goparaju, who finished BE in mechanical engineering joined a study circle for coaching as he aspires to appear for the civil services exam. During the course of time, he developed friendship with a female staff member at the institute. He even proposed to her which she politely declined. However, Goparaju continued to send abusive text messages to her and harassed her with frequent calls.

Unable to bear the torture any longer, the woman lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police. The culprit is now in police custody.
