Karimnagar: A lorry driver by name Kumar attacked rice mill owner Sampath Rao with a crowbar at Suddala village in Sultanabad mandal of Karimnagar district on Tuesday. Sampath Rao succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. According to Sultanabad Circle Inspector T Srinivas Rao, Kumar was working as lorry driver for Sri Raja Rajeswara Rice Mill owned by Sampath Rao for the past few months.

He never used to attend to his duties regularly. But, Kumar always insisted that Sampath Rao should pay his salary in the first week of every month. Entering into an argument, Kumar on Tuesday demanded that Sampath Rao should clear his salary. But, Sampath told Kumar that he would settle his two-month salary only after calculating as to how many days he had worked. Angered by Sampath’s answer, Kumar picked up a crowbar and hit Sampath on his head. The Circle Inspector said that the accused was at large.
