Hyderabad couple held for ganja smuggling
The Agency police arrested a middle aged couple on the charges of trying to smuggle ganja to Hyderabad on Wednesday. The GK Veedhi Police arrested the couple near Pathaveedhi area in the district while they were in the process of transporting 36 kg dry ganja to Hyderabad, the police said.

The GK Veedhi Police arrested the couple near Pathaveedhi area in the district while they were in the process of transporting 36 kg dry ganja to Hyderabad, the police said.
They were identified as S Dayanand (55) and S Yadamma (45) from Ziagudda area in Hyderabad city. The police also seized Rs 1 lakh cash from them, said Sub-Inspector of GK Veedhi P N Murthy.
He said that the couple had procured the green weed from a remote area in GK Veedhi mandals and were trying to smuggle to Hyderabad through Narsipatnam route. Acting on a tip off, the police had intercepted the couple at Pathaveedhi while they were boarding a Narispatnm-bound RTC bus and seized the contraband. The police registered a case against the couple under Section 20 (B) of NDPC Act.
