HIV Patient Commits Suicide in Hospital. A 35-year-old HIV patient allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a private hospital room in Ramnagar, under Musheerabad police station limits on Tuesday.
Hyderabad: A 35-year-old HIV patient allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a private hospital room in Ramnagar, under Musheerabad police station limits on Tuesday. According to police, the deceased, was a Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) and a native of Chowdarpally village in Medak district.
Couple of months back, he was diagnosed with AIDS and since then he had slipped into depression and would often sit on bed and weep nonstop, the cops said. “He was admitted to the hospital after he complained of severe headache and vomiting. On Tuesday afternoon, he asked his wife and mother to get something from the house to eat, but, when they returned after a while, they found him hanging from the ceiling fan,” sub-inspector P Rama Raju said.
The police believed that the cause for his committing suicide was also the social stigma attached with the disease.
