Couple stabbed; wife dies, man critical

Hyderabad: A man stabbed a couple, resulting in the death of the woman, while her husband was serious injured. The incident happened near toddy compound of B N Reddy Nagar in Vanasthalipuram on Thursday evening. According to police, Purnamma, 32 and Venkataiah, 40, labourers and residents of Gurramguda in Saroornagar Mandal, were relishing toddy at the Kallu Compound after completing the day’s work. While going home, they encountered Antony, 30, also resident of the same locality and got into a verbal duel. Antony stabbed both of them. While the woman died on the spot, her husband was seriously injured and was shifted to a nearby hospital.
