Humiliated, student commits suicide
Unable to put up with the humiliations meted out to him by his class teacher Anuradha, an eighth class student, Chakali Naresh (14), studying in the Zilla Parishad High School at Indole village of Peddamul mandal in the district, committed suicide by hanging from a tree on Friday.

The incident came to light only on Saturday. Going into detail, the class teacher of Naresh used to collect Rs 2 as penalty from the students who come late to the school or if they absent themselves without prior intimation. Unfortunately, the cash box went missing one day and Naresh’s classmates complained to the teacher that he stole it. The teacher scolded him and warned him of stringent action if he failed to return the money box.
Upset over this, Naresh rushed out of the school and hanged himself from a tree. The teachers who came to know of the incident, got panicked and immediately got the body cremated though it should have been buried, according to customs. The incident was hushed up. According to reports, the ZPH school authorities were able to convince the parents of the boy against lodging a complaint against the teacher with the police.
