Tribal woman gang-raped

Karimnagar: A 40-year-old woman was allegedly gang- raped by three persons at Ameernagar of Housing Board colony here in the Karimnagar district on Friday. A woman, belonging to Scheduled Tribe, was hired for construction work by a person, named Md.Musa. After completing her work, when she was about to leave for home, Musa stopped her and asked her to come on his motor bike, promising to drop her at home, the police said. Musa took the woman to the secluded spot and offered her alcohol to drink. Then he called two of his friends and raped her. They threatened her with dire consequences if she dared to reveal the incident. They also stole Rs 5,000 and a cell phone from her, the police said. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rama Rao said the accused and his two friends were arrested and an FIR had been registered against them. They were charged with under various Sections of IPC, including that of ST/SC Atrocities Act.
