Teacher held for sexual abuse

Hyderabad: A private school teacher was arrested by Vanasthalipuram police on Saturday for sexually abusing a 8th standard girl.
The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has also taken up a suo moto case against the teacher.
Commission has issued notices to district education officer (DEO) Ranga Reddy and DCP of LB Nagar, Cyberabad. It has asked for the report on the incident from both of them by March 30.
After the complaint of girl’s parents, the police arrested Hemanth Kumar, a physics teacher of Bhashyam School for alleged sexual abuse of a minor. The parent’s had first approached the school management, demanding action against the erring teacher, but their plea was not heard.
Later, they registered a complaint with the police.
Members of student organisations expressed their anguish over the issue. They barged into the school premises and damaged furniture, window panes and demanded strong action against the teacher.
