Hyderabad: In a ghastly incident, a nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Maisamma Nagar in Jagadgirigutta area, under Jeedimetla police station, cops said on Tuesday. The culprit has been identified as Harinath, 19. “On Sunday, while the victim was going to purchase some household items from a nearby store, Harinath lured the girl and took her to his house and outraged her modesty.
The victim was sent to hospital for medical examination,” said the cops. The minor did not reveal the incident to her mother on the same day, but the crime came to light when she was taken to hospital after she complained of stomach pain and bleeding, the cops added. Based on a complaint by the victim’s mother, a case was booked against Harinath under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act 2012.
Woman found dead; rape, murder suspected
A woman aged between 30 and 35 was found “murdered” near old Gandhi Hospital, under Market police station, police said on Tuesday. Police rushed to the spot after being alerted by the locals on Tuesday morning. The woman was yet to be identified. “The incident might have occurred late on Monday night and the body was dumped in the bushes,” the cops said. The possibility rape is strongly suspected as the body which bore multiple stab injuries was found in a semi-nude state and liquor bottles were found near the spot, according to sources.
