Harassment drives woman to suicide

A 28-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well at Seetharampur village of Karimnagar mandal following harassment for dowry. According to information, Shailaja (28), daughter of Kanaka Raju and Rajeshwari of Seetharampur village, was married to Swarapaka Lakshman of Khazipet village of the same mandal in 2012.
Karimnagar: A 28-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well at Seetharampur village of Karimnagar mandal following harassment for dowry. According to information, Shailaja (28), daughter of Kanaka Raju and Rajeshwari of Seetharampur village, was married to Swarapaka Lakshman of Khazipet village of the same mandal in 2012. In their complaint with the police, the victim’s parents alleged that Lakshman and his mother Rama had been harassing Shailaja for Rs 1 lakh dowry, forcing her to attempt suicide 10 days ago.
